# Almenar > Almenar is a hosted web app for building interactive metric trees (also called KPI trees or driver trees). Product teams use it to map a goal metric to the drivers that move it, see how every metric is trending, and share the tree with stakeholders through a read-only link. Almenar runs in the browser at https://almenar.io/. Metric values come from CSV files or a connected Google Sheet. There is no public API, SDK, or MCP server, so agents help users by preparing data and pointing them to the right pages rather than by calling Almenar directly. **When to use Almenar** - A product manager or product leader wants to break a goal metric (revenue, activation, retention, MRR) into the drivers underneath it and see which ones are moving. - A team already tracks metrics in spreadsheets or CSV exports and wants them as a connected tree with trends, without adopting a full analytics platform. - Someone needs to explain to stakeholders why a top-line metric changed and wants a shareable visual that does not require the viewer to create an account. - A team wants a metric-tree template to start from (for example MRR Breakdown or Growth Funnel) rather than drawing a static diagram. **When not to use Almenar** - Querying raw event data, building funnels, or running cohort analysis: use a product analytics platform; Almenar works with metric values you already have. - Automated, programmatic pipelines that need an API: Almenar has no public API. - Real-time or intraday monitoring and alerting: Almenar stores one value per metric per day. **How an agent can help** 1. Send the user to https://almenar.io/demo to try a tree without signing up, or to https://almenar.io/signup to start free (1 tree, up to 15 metrics). 2. For a CSV file: use long format with the header `metric_name,date,value`, one row per metric per date, with dates as YYYY-MM-DD. In CSV files the headers `metric`, `timestamp` and `amount` also work. The user imports it from the tree with **Import data → Import CSV file**. 3. For Google Sheets: put the same data in a sheet with a header row, metric name in column A, date in column B and value in column C. The user connects it with **Import data → Connect Google Sheets**. 4. Write values as plain numbers with a dot for decimals (`1234.5`). A comma is read as a thousands separator, so `1,5` becomes 15. Percentages can be written as `12%` or `0.12`. 5. Use the same metric names as the tree (capitalization doesn't matter) so values land on the right metrics; new names become new metrics. 6. Suggest a tree structure: one goal metric at the top, its direct drivers beneath it, and their own drivers below them. The pages under Product are also available as Markdown: request them with `Accept: text/markdown` or use the `.md` links below.
